Radical Aramaya is a Sri Lankan music project built around one idea: that a song can be both rooted and restless.
We write in Sinhala, drawing on the lyrical tradition of Amaradeva and Sunil Ariyaratne, then build the sound around the words — guitar and sitar, old melody and modern production, sitting side by side. Every release starts as lyric and tune, never the other way round.
රැඩිකල් ආරාමය යනු ශ්රී ලාංකේය සංගීත ව්යාපෘතියකි. සම්ප්රදායික සිංහල ගීත රසය නවීන හඬක් සමඟ එක් කරමින්, වචනයෙන් හා තනුවෙන් ආරම්භ වන මුල් නිර්මාණ අපි ගොඩනඟමු.
The name says it plainly — aramaya, a quiet place to retreat into; radical, a refusal to make it safe or small.
