We met at the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo — and have been making music together ever since.

For years we wrote our own melodies and songs and built a beautiful life around them. Nearly twenty years ago we composed these songs and played them with guitar and flute, but they stayed hidden, enjoyed only among friends. The economic and technical limits of that time meant we never had the chance to release them.

කොළඹ සරසවියේ විද්‍යා පීඨයේදී හමුවූ අප, කාලයක සිට එක්ව සංගීත පර්යේෂණ කටයුතුවල නිරත වෙමින්, අපගේම තනු සහ ගීත නිර්මාණය කරමින් සුන්දර ජීවිතයක් ගත කළෙමු. වසර විස්සකට පමණ පෙර රචනා කර, තනු යොදා, ගිටාරය සහ බටනලාව සමඟින් මිතුරන් අතරේ පමණක් රසවිඳි ඒ අපූරු ගීත හදවත් තුළම සැඟවී තිබුණි. එකල පැවති ආර්ථික සහ තාක්ෂණික සීමාවන් හේතුවෙන්, ඒ නිර්මාණ එළිදැක්වීමට අපට හැකියාවක් හෝ අවස්ථාවක් නොලැබුණි.

With the arrival of AI, those barriers have fallen away. In an age where costly equipment and studios are no longer essential, the time has finally come to bring those independent creations — kept alive in our hearts for two decades — to you as complete songs.

එහෙත් අද වන විට AI තාක්ෂණයේ ආගමනයත් සමඟ ඒ සියලු භෞතික බාධාවන් බිඳ වැටී ඇත. මිල අධික උපකරණ සහ ශබ්දාගාරවල අවශ්‍යතාවය ඉවත්ව ගොස් ඇති මේ යුගයේ, දශක දෙකක් පුරා අපේ සිත් තුළ නිදන්ව තිබූ ඒ ස්වතන්ත්‍ර නිර්මාණ, පරිපූර්ණ ගීත ලෙස ඔබ හමුවට ගෙන ඒමට දැන් කාලය උදා වී තිබේ.

As our own dream becomes reality, we decided to reach out to other creative Sri Lankans facing the same isolation we once did. We began a programme to support deeply talented lyricists who lack access to this new technology — helping them with melody and production. Today we don't stop at creating; we also distribute this work to the world.

අපගේ සිහින මෙලෙස යථාර්ථයක් වෙමින් පවතින විට, එදා අප මුහුණ දුන් හුදෙකලා තත්ත්වයේම පසුවන තවත් නිර්මාණශීලී ලාංකිකයින් සමඟ අත්වැල් බැඳගැනීමට අපි තීරණය කළෙමු. විවිධ ආර්ථික හෝ භෞතික හේතූන් මත නව තාක්ෂණයට ප්‍රවේශයක් නොමැති, එහෙත් අතිශය දක්ෂ පද රචකයින්ට තනු සහ ගීත නිර්මාණයෙන් සහාය වීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළක් අප විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. අද වන විට අපි නිර්මාණ බිහි කිරීමෙන් පමණක් නොනැවතී, ඒවා ජාත්‍යන්තර තලයට බෙදාහැරීමේ කර්තව්‍යයට ද පිවිස සිටිමු.

At a time when refined, literary, musical new work has become rare — and YouTube overflows with every kind of 'AI cover song' of past hits — Radical Aramaya is an honest effort to stay clear of that current entirely, blending modern technology with genuine human creativity to make meaningful, original work.

වර්තමානයේ උසස්, සාහිත්‍යවත් සහ සංගීතවත් නව නිර්මාණ දුලබ වී ඇති පසුබිමක, 70, 80, 90 දශකයන්හි බිහිවූ අතීත නිර්මාණවල 'AI Cover Songs' විවිධාකාරයෙන් නිර්මාණය වෙමින් යූටියුබ් අවකාශය දෙගොඩතලා යමින් තිබේ. රැඩිකල් ආරාමය යනු ඒ රැල්ලේ නොගිලී, එයින් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම මිදී, නවීන තාක්ෂණය සැබෑ මානුෂීය නිර්මාණශීලිත්වය හා මුසු කරමින් අර්ථවත් ස්වතන්ත්‍ර නිර්මාණ බිහිකිරීමට දරන අවංක ප්‍රයත්නයකි.
